I believe people have a light within them that sometimes gets covered up with clouds of confusion, challenging life experiences, or trauma. In psychotherapy, we work together within a safe, professional and therapeutic relationship to help clear away the clouds and let the internal light shine through. Within this process, individuals can experience emotional safety and acceptance, deepen their self-understanding and connect with their inner light.
Together in psychotherapy we identify and energize the inner strengths and build on them. The specific approaches used will depend on the unique needs of each family or individual. Some of the approaches I use include: helping the client become and stay aware of the mind-body connection, helping them understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behavior, and helping them use insight as an agent of change. I see my role as that of assisting the client in their path of self-discovery, healing, and growth.
